In 2020, the Green Valley Fire Safe Council received the first Fire Wise USA designation in Solano County.

To renew each year, we must demonstrate wildfire preparedness activities and show investments of volunteer hours or financial investments.

In 2025, the Fire Safe Council completed another Community Wildfire Risk Assessment fulfilling the Fire Wise USA requirement every 5 years.

Residents of Green Valley have used the Fire Wise USA certificate to receive a discount on their homeowners insurance and in some cases to obtain homeowners insurance.
